Painter Curtis Settino Encourages Artists To Open Up & Try Different Mediums

Curtis Settino is a painter and interactive designer based in Portland, Oregon. He is a member of Gallery 114, located in Portland's Pearl District, and teaches art and music to students through Saturday Academy, Young Audiences and his own Canoofle Creative Camp. He also creates sculptures, traditional art prints, drawings, films, animations, unique musical instruments, music and stories. After a youth filled with art-making, creative training and awards, Curtis earned his BFA at the College for Creative Studies in Detroit, Michigan. He has shown his work in galleries, cafes and other venues in California and Oregon.

"I like to encourage people to work in more than one medium. When you work across mediums (successes and fails) you start to discover yourself as a creative more fully. Otherwise, you may be limited by what a single view of your creativity reveals."

Below is a mural he did with his family.  You can see the short video of it at this link.  It took  4 of them 6 hours and 32 cans of spray paint.  He says of their project, "A family that sprays together, stays together."
